Slate Run Metro Park

Great place to walk or run. The trail is gravel and well maintained with some hills that are abnormally steep for central Ohio. Definitely worth coming out here and the pet friendly trail is also super nice. Usually pet friendly trails are either boring, too short, or both. Luckily this park doesn’t have that problem.

The place is a perfect low key introduction to a working farm. It's an up close and real life experience. My grandson loved it. Best of all it's free. If you have more time explore the trails.

First time out there in a while. Probably as an adult. I didn't realize how big it is. Took the kids to the farm part first. While covid restrictions didn't allow them into the farm house, going to the barn etc was fun. They got to see 2 baby lambs and chickens and a few pigs, and a turkey. They had a blast with the playground area and to run and climb. I'm personally looking forward to walking the trails sans kids.

Really nice place to walk around. There are at least three different places to go within the park. There are short trails that are stroller and family friendly. There is a playground for bigger kids and a smaller one for little children. There were several bathroom locations within the park as well. Check hours of homestead, those are a little different than the actual park.

This is one of my favorite Metro Parks. I have been coming here since my kids were young. Now they are all married and have kids of their own. I love taking my grandchildren and they love it too. The playgrounds are some of the best in central Ohio.
