Altercare Post-Acute Rehabilitation Center

Entire staff was helpful, friendly, caring, and kind to my brother. The facilty is also kept very clean. Amy was most helpful.

We selected Altercare Post-Acute after reviewing the “U.S. News & World Report Best Nursing Homes Ratings” report. Altercare Post-Acute Rehabilitation Center is rated 5 stars among all nursing homes in the Nation! The credentials and accomplishments needed to receive this National 5 star rating was evident to us while our 94 year old dad was there for his Rehab stay. We are extremely happy with our choice.

This facility is exemplary and top notch in providing support, personalized care and positive interactions in all areas including the Executive Director, Physicians, Medical Records, Director of Nursing, Social Worker, Wound Care, Nurses, Aides, Rehab Therapy, Dietician, Housekeeping, Maintenance and Activities. Also, the minute we enter the front doors of this facility to visit we are welcomed with receptionists who are friendly and kind.

The entire staff on all daily and weekend shifts are all 5 stars! There is not one staff member in any area of this facility that doesn’t offer the best quality care. All are skilled and knowledgeable in their area of support and expertise, easily approachable, kind, pleasant, caring, responsive to all needs and offer great communication with family. They have all exceeded our expectations.

Our 94 year old dad was always provided with the highest level of care in the areas of daily skilled medical attention, assistance with personal care, getting in and out of bed, wound care and rehab services. Also, the coordination and transportation efforts for going to outpatient appointments was outstanding. This facility is clean and we feel our dad had a low risk of getting an infection in this facility.

Our dad has been in other rehab nursing home facilities and there is no comparison. Altercare Post-Acute offers impeccable services and we also rate them 5 stars.

I spent approximately 2 weeks at APRC for post-hospital rehab. During that time, I found the nursing staff was very helpful and attentive. Call-lights were answered quickly and in a timely manner. I personally would like to thank the Nurses and STNA's on 300 Hall for all the good care they gave me.

I know that in many facilities, the quality of the meals often isn't very tasty, but I found that my meals were very good. The dietary department always had alternatives for anything I did not want (as I'm a picky eater.) Meals were served hot and plentiful.

I would also like to recognize and thank Pam and Ramona in Housekeeping for their daily visits and for taking care of my personal laundry. As for therapy, Rich and Sonya were wonderful and great help with getting this cranky patient back on her feet! A special thanks to both of them.

Finally, I would like to thank Erin Fromwiller and the whole administrative staff for the attention they gave me during my stay.
Any concerns I had were addressed promptly and in a satisfactory manner. I thoroughly appreciate all the hard work by the staff in every department during my stay at APRC.

I wanted to update my review here because the situation has been taken care of. The management paid for a new phone for my father-in-law. Which worked out just fine. From what I understand the food here is not the best, but you can't always get good food in these places unfortunately.

My father in law has been here recovering from hip surgery. He left his phone on the bed when they took him to do shower. The staff came in and rolled up his bedding with the phone, not noticing it. (seems hard to imagine not noticing it) anyway, they put it through the washer and ruined it. We had to get him a replacement phone. We cannot find anyone to talk to about compensation.
