It's a nice place for a casual stroll. It's a bit of peace and quiet amidst the hustle and bustle of an old industrial city.
Sunday stroll with my dog! Park is great, the trail allows for walking, running and biking and connects several places.
This is the training facility for CPD. It's also where the city water wells are. The track is well maintained, about .25 miles around. The West Branch trailhead is here. 3/4mi to the 38th St NW crossing at the railroad, and 4mi to President Mckinley's tomb (there's a gas station at 2 miles, water etc). The park is a bit rundown, it used to be ball fields. No kid-friendly equipment, very limited parking, NO RESTROOMS, and no actual covered bridge. It borders a quiet apartment complex on one side and a cemetery on the other (it's noisy around Midnight). The local tornado siren is here, so Mondays at noon...
