First I stayed a week at a pull through camp site. Then with the pros, First the beach/ pool area is cleaned nicely each day. The volleyball courts, tennis, basketball, Gaga ball, mini golf are well maintained. The snack bars is nice and fairly priced for a camp ground.
Then the cons Honest part management is poor they could care less about customer service, after that the camp store is WAYYY OVERPRICED like 4 times regular price of most campgrounds and stores. Bath houses are not kept the cleanest but probably due to lack of staff. Then the one restaurant by the rec center is not the best either. Another con is the rec center isn’t open very long on weekdays. Also a big one for me is the list of things you’re not supposed to do that they enforce like bring your own golf cart. Then I saw the head life guard seemed to enforce the rules only against certain people/kids. And way too far making kids have a bad day because they got kicked out. Like maybe give them a better warning not just be a jerk and call a manager. Also the life guards need a whistle not a cheaper version of a mega phone. Honestly some of the staff definitely need more training.
Going back to my first point bad management ohh and please clarify to others the week hours for the pool is 12-7 not 11-7 like weekend not clarified online well or by pool.
I went to Clay's for Country Fest and it was an all around great experience. Our cabin was clean and ready for us upon our arrival. The staff was friendly and knew all the answers to all of our questions no matter where we were in the park. While we were there our gas detector went off and the park maintenance staff was quickly on it making sure to help us! The detector was faulty and nothing was wrong with our cabin so the staff was super helpful in calming our nerves and making us feel very comfortable in our surroundings.
Normally music festivals are not well maintained with trash but this team did a great job at clean up throughout the day as well as at the end of each day. The overall experience our group had was one to remember.
The security staff at the pool was attentive and made sure only the appropriate guests were granted access, Sara at John O's was extremely fun and helpful during our lunch. Stephanie and Shellby also did a great job at making sure everything with our check in went smoothly and we felt as welcomed as possible. When we had an issue with our wristband Stephanie was quick to rescue us!
I would love to return to this park during a normal operating stay outside of Country Fest! Thank you Clay's Jellystone Park and thank you to all their staff!
Love this place- always clean, polite & efficient when I stop here- usually after7am
