If you are even considering a home birth, call Nicole and her team. They are all amazing. My husband was hesitant on having a home birth at first, but after meeting with Nicole, Jessie and the rest of her team he was sure it was the right path. I felt complete support throughout my entire pregnancy, I always felt like they were putting me first. More often than not, I didn't have many questions because of how thorough they were, but if something came up they were just a text or call away. When it came down to the birth, I seriously don't know what would have happened without Nicole and her team. Our baby got stuck and Nicole was able to manage the situation without any impact to the baby or myself and the result was a healthy, happy family. While I was decompressing from the birth, Nicole sat and talked with me making sure that I was okay mentally too. They took so much time to care for me during that process that I had next to no recover time before I felt like myself again both physically and mentally. My husband and I will forever be thankful for them and will be calling Nicole again when we are ready for our next child.
TLDR: Run, don't walk, to Nicole!! And it's amazing that you can go from looking like death after giving birth, to being somewhat back to normal the next day!
I left the OB practice I was originally going to after only a handful of visits due to the way I was being treated as a first time mom. I felt like I was just a number, and the last visit I had with them made me feel subhuman. It was the last straw.
I found Vine of Life when searching for an alternative to the "traditional"/"normal" hospital birth. I went in for a consult to see if it was a good fit. I was greeted by Jessie who was just the sweetest! In the office, Nicole and the rest of her team were waiting. Everyone introduced themselves, and it felt like I was already among friends! I went over my concerns that were ignored and ridiculed by the OB practice, and Nicole said that she had dealt with other mothers with the same condition. I instantly felt at ease. The OB visits lasted a whopping 5-10 minutes... The initial consult with Nicole was almost an hour!! When the consult was over Nicole came over and gave me a huge hug. I knew I was going to have her be my midwife. As I walked out to my car, I broke into tears of happiness... I felt human! Each prenatal with Nicole and her team was always over a half hour long! Getting to actually know the people who were going to be with me in such an intimate time was amazing. When I went into labor, I called Nicole who answered right away. I told her what was going on, and she wanted a call back when my contractions were more regular. By the time they were, I could barely speak so my doula called Nicole... She and her team were at my house within 20 minutes! The support and care I received during my labor, the birth of my baby, and after was better than I could have imagined! Afterwards, Nicole and her team cleaned up EVERYTHING. They even did our dishes, and did laundry! The next day, I felt like I was pretty much back to "normal"! I feel like my recovery was fairly quick after giving birth to a 8+lb baby because of the choice I made. Leaving the OB practice and going to Nicole was one of the best decisions I've ever made!
All I can say is Nicole and her team are amazing! So thorough and so loving! I cannot wait to work with them someday
I met Nicole Young shortly after learning of my first pregnancy. Our initial meeting was professional and very informative. Nicole Young as well as her team quickly gained my husband’s and my trust to care for and deliver our baby girl.
At each appointment throughout my pregnancy Nicole was present and attentive to my needs and concerns. She never missed a teaching opportunity and gave me the confidence and knowledge I needed to safely deliver our baby. Nicole was also available outside of my scheduled appointment times. If I ever had questions or concerns she was and still is prompt to respond and help.
I felt confident during my delivery due to Nicole’s and her team’s professionalism, steadiness, and preparedness when they arrived at our home. Nicole was vigilant throughout the process while allowing my husband and I to remain comfortable. The team thoroughly cleaned, started our laundry, and even prepared us a meal. I could not be more thankful for such an experienced, kind, and attentive midwife and team.
Nicole has now delivered two of my babies. The first was in 2020 and the second a few weeks ago. The care I received both times from Nicole and her team was absolutely amazing. I saw her starting at about 20weeks all the way through my postpartum care. My entire experience with them was above and beyond what I hoped for. My brother (who is a doctor) attended the second birth and was also very impressed with everything Nicole and her team did. My husband and I did a ton of research before choosing Nicole. She is very experienced/qualified and on top of that, she made us feel very comfortable and reassured while never rushing us. One of our main reasons for doing a home birth was so our older kids could be involved and attend the births. Nicole knew this and went out of her way to include them. Her whole team was so sweet with all of our kids. Everyone was very attentive to me during labor and after delivery. They even cooked us all breakfast. We had two wonderful family birth experiences that we will cherish forever because of them.
