“Five years ago today my daughter and I walked into the Defiance Mercy ER due to a large infection on her leg that rapidly was getting worse. Previous treatment was unsuccessful. My daughter was so fortunate because Dr. Goliver was on duty, and I think he's the only doctor in Northwest Ohio who knew what the problem was. He immediately diagnosed aeromonas, a pathogen linked to flesh-eating bacteria. Lab tests later confirmed his diagnosis. His care didn't stop after my daughter was transfered to St. Vincent's. The next day Dr. Goliver called to check on her, and he spent time confirming that the correct antibiotic was being used in the hospital. He explained about the proper antibiotic to use after my daughter's release. After my daughter was released, and I realized the so-called infectious disease specialist prescribed the wrong antibiotic, Dr. Goliver helped us get the appropriate antibiotic. My daughter is now 24 and has both her legs because of Dr. Goliver's knowledge and care.This grateful mama issues a long-overdue review to Dr. Goliver. Not all heroes wear capes.”
