United Brethren In Christ, Evangelical Association, and Methodist Churches were United in 1968 becoming the United Methodist Denomination. Bishop Philip William Otterbein was the first to ordain the first Methodist Pastors, Circuit Riders! Rev. John Wesley was unable to be in the New America's at that time and had Dr. Rev. Otterbein conduct the ordination service! Philip William Otterbein was the Bishop Pastor of The German Reform Church and in 1657 with Martin Boehm, who was a Minnanite, whom became friends when Rev. Otterbein, when Rev. Boehm spoke in Issaic Long's Barn for a revival meeting and Otterbein went upto Boehm and said we are Brethren! They started The Church, United Brethren in Christ at that time, 1657! Etc. More history is recorded in the book named: History of the Church of the United Brethren In Christ! By A. W. Drury. The Otterbein Press, Dayton, Ohio 1924. And therefore from 1968 the church will be named (full name) The United Methodist Church and no less, because there were THREE DISTINCT CHURCHES "TRUELY" "UNITED" to create "The United Methodist Church"!
