(June 15, 2023, 7:22 pm)I had been to the original Chicken shack, but was eager to try the newest location.
Upon arrival I realized - this place is Massive. The atmosphere is great and we loved sitting outside.
The food is good, however, i would highly recommend getting the bone-in options. The chicken tenders were decent, but not what the bone-in was. Sides are good and so are sauces (aside from the shack sauce).
If you’re coming from OKC/ Edmond, you will have a great time. I recommend coming with family/ friends and taking advantage of the outdoors seating. It can be a great evening, especially if you come with a group. The food is a little expensive, as I spent $19 on just my tender meal.
(May 19, 2023, 1:20 pm)Loved the place, great customer service, great atmosphere. But the chicken was definitely nothing special. We might’ve been not so lucky that day or it’s just not for us. As I know tons of people who swear by their chicken. Also, be prepared of their prices as it’s not what you would expect from a chicken place.
(March 29, 2023, 11:38 am)The Chicken Shack is a great place to bring family and friends. The new location is so much nicer and closer to Edmond now. The star of the show is the chicken. You can order 1/4, 1/2, or whole broasted chicken. We have been to the Chicken Shack 4 times now and the food quality has been excellent. The chicken is hot, moist, and best of all, flavorful. The sides are simple: smoky mac & cheese, fries, coleslaw. All very tasty. There are other items available, such as pork chops and on certain days shrimp and crawfish. There is a full bar. I have not tried anything from it, so I can't comment on the bartender's ability! The Chicken Shack is moderately priced. We had a party of 4 and it cost around $60 to $75. On weekends the Chicken Shack has a band on the stage. On nice weather days you can opt to eat outside and on cool nights the shack has a few firepits going to enjoy your night. This is really a hidden gem of Oklahoma. Great food, fun and very family friendly.
(March 19, 2023, 10:06 am)Just down the street from POPS. Fed a family of 10 for $100 with their family pack. Chicken was delious and so moist and tender. Gizzards are good but could use a little more flavoring. Service was fast and friendly. They were very busy but still had room to seat us immediately. Definitely would go again
(February 17, 2023, 12:23 pm)Enjoyed lunch x 2 in one week at Chicken Shack …. We have always gone to the Chicken Shack in Luther. Pleased to see the closer restaurant, but also miss the old rustic Luther one. The new restaurant has similarities to the old one, pleased to see the gravel floor, the bone buckets!
Enjoyed 1/2 chicken meal with green beans(green beans are heavy on a spice, my husband says pepper) My husband had the shack Mac as his side. He enjoyed that.
This visit I had reserved the private room in case Super Bowl crowd. Nice room
Second visit I had the tri tip BBQ sandwich. Very good. Large sandwich.
My husband had the daily special which was a huge loaded baked potato (had several side items on it). He loved it.
Our other meal a friend had was 1/2 chicken with okra. Okra is like bacon, always good.
Nice place. Too full to try a desert.
Love the big pot belly type stove. Added a nice warmth.
The restaurant has other daily specials not on the menu but posted on a chalkboard as you enter.
Recommend the restaurant and will be back. The staff (forget both gentlemen’s names) was very good.
