Typical hibachi in Edmond. This place has been around for years. Friendly staff. Smaller tables than the others in Edmond and North OKC. Why is that important? A family of 4 - 6 could typically share a table with others at most hibachi places. Some times, there would be a wait at the other places so they could fill up a bigger table. At SUMO, due to the smaller tables, my party of 6 had a table to themselves and they take reservations so we knew the wait would be minimal. The food was about on par with the other places. I can't really think of anything to make it stand out on it's own. There was a lot of what I can only assume soy used during the cook. I guess this is why the rice and noodles being salty. The veggies were great. The chef was talkative and attentive. Drinks never went dry. Good place, again, it's been there for a long time so they are doing something right. We'd go again I think.
I love the deep fried sushi rolls from Sumo and the spicy cowboy roll. They currently have an offer where you can 50% off the spicy cowboy roll of you buy one. Also got the miso soup & salad - I don’t know what kind of dressing they put on their salad but it taste refreshing! Also got egg fried rice, all of this food is very filling & enough for 2. Patrick was our server & he made our liquid marijuana cocktail perfectly- Thank you!
We went on a Friday night and there was plenty of seating, we sat at the bar. Next time I’d like to sit at the teppanyaki grill!
Sumo is a great lunch spot if you’re looking for a large, affordable meal. Really enjoyed the miso soup and ginger dressing on the salad, and my lunch chicken hibachi was pretty good too. The fried rice was a little over cooked, but over all a good meal for the price.
Went there for a birthday celebration and everyone had a great time. Service was good, they have a huge menu, and plenty of variety for the sushi lover's. We had such a large group we had a variety of sushi ordered and we also did the Hibachi. Food overall was excellent. The only negative was the chef did not have enough food. He had to go back and forth several times to get more steak, shrimp, etc., causing everyone to not eating together. The waiter took all of our orders but the chef did not get/bring enough on his cart. It all got settled and fixed but some of us were done eating while others had just started. Highly recommend for sushi, dinning in and great Hibachi. Great place to take for a special occasion.
We visited Sumo Steak House for the first time this month to celebrate my son's birthday and had an awesome experience! Our chef was entertaining and fun and the food was amazing. We did spend over $100 for three people but we also ordered sushi. Definitely worth checking out for the delicious food and awesome experience alone!
