“I have been seeing Dr. Mackey about three months and I have no complaints so far. Others here posted Dr. Mackey doesn’t spend enough time with them but you have to realize they are too busy and really only get about ten or fifteen minutes per patient. Any doctor not just a pain doctor. Some said you only see PA instead of doctor and as for my experience I’ve always seen the doctor with a PA or nurse. Dr. Mackey is very pleasant and actually added a pain patch that I was a little skeptical about but it has helped me quite a bit and it was really a smart idea in a lot of ways. Dr. Mackey is very knowledgeable about Oklahoma opioid laws and very knowledgeable about different ways to treat pain. He sent me to see Dr. Sam for a consult who I just loved! His office is well run and for the most part everyone is friendly when greeting you. I have never had any issues with anyone in his office. I have been misunderstood before which was probably just me not being clear which if I’m in pain that day I can’t think clear when nerve pain is attacking me. His staff has been very patient with me because sometimes it’s hard for me to get a urine sample for them since I had my sleeve surgery even at home sometimes it takes me awhile. The nurse said ok we can do a mouth swab which was a relief! They were very patient and kind which I appreciated. Anyway like I said it’s only been a few months but everyone is very professional and they keep his office running very well. I’m also seeing a surgeon at the OKC Spine Hospital and he offered up that Dr. Mackey is a very good knowledgeable pain doctor! That made me feel more confident with Dr. Mackey. Also I have looked at every comment here and it’s very reassuring to see so many patients who have stayed with Dr. Mackey for so many years! Quite a few have been with him ten plus years! That speaks well of him! I was born in Edmond and knew I would buy a home here but was nervous to find a new pain doctor but Dr. Mackey and Dr. Sam have been very welcoming so try them out if you are willing to follow the rules!”
