Will Rogers Birthplace Ranch is a really great place to go catch the best view of Oolagah Lake in all of Oolagah! It's a great place to go for a quick venture to experience a place of history. It's an active ranch, so you'll also get to see some Longhorns, goats, chickens, and the sweetest little barn cat that my daughter fell in love with. I definitely suggest going here, especially if you have a fondness for Will. You get to walk his childhood home and imagine how much simpler life might have been out on that patch of land at the turn of the century.
*Update- 2023: The sweet little barn cat is still alive and doing great! She's got herself 3 new kitty friends. I still say, "Stop by sometime and enjoy the amazing view."
Beautiful ranch with an incredible history. The Cherokee Nation recently purchased the property from the state and are making plans to bring the property back up to the standards that it should be. Unfortunately, Under state care, the ranch was allowed to slowly deteriorate and it needs a lot of work. But, still a beautiful property with an awesome view!
This was a very pleasant experience. My sister and I were the only people there. There were three friendly cats, a vocal cockeral, and several goats. Only the ground floor is open. It's well maintained and reminds me of old Western movies.
Great part of history. Free to visit and well maintained. Lots of info inside on plaques. Peaceful and beatuful view of Oolagah Lake. Barn has large room with tables and chairs so you could bring a class of kids out for a tour.
