The green enchiladas were really good. I loved how spicy it was, wished the order came with threes enchiladas and not two. The place was a little too cold for my liking. Overall good experience, will be going back.
I try something different each visit and I'm always happily stuffed when i leave. The food and service is top notch!
El Maguey's serves up an amazing meal. At El Maguey's attention to detail is rule #1. We arrived at a quarter past 5pm and there was a moderate crowd. With the kind and efficient service, the staff make you feel like you are the only patron. We appreciated this and the service staff had the nice gift of not interrupting the meal. They are cordial and show up at the right moment.
For dinner we wanted to celebrate seafood from amazingly fresh to El Diablo spicy. Of course we started out with chips and salsa and El Maguey's standard salsa is creamier and I found I liked the cream of tomato texture. The hot sauce was savory with a little heat. We added the table hot sauce and it lit it up! For our drinks we ordered "The Skinny" a margarita drink and an Old Fashioned. These are a perfect pairing for the food we were served. For our appetizer we split a small ceviche. This dish was very fresh and I couldn't tell that the shrimp didn't just come out of the ocean. Spiced up orange and lime slices were on the edges. It is very satisfying to break a chip, make a ceviche bite, and enjoy while your spouse is doing the same. We prefer to always share and split as we enjoy the experience more that way. For dinner we had the El Diablo shrimp. It lived up to its name and by the 4th shrimp beads of sweat were forming. The entire experience was delightful and we will be going back. The beauty of the Old Fashioned as a drink is that at the end of everything there are 2 to 3 soaked cherries to eat as a palette cleanser and tamer of the heat. I would love to sample some good tequila with a meal and go from there! Cheers and happy trails!
Oh my goodness this place is amazing. The food is beyond great and authentic, the service is quick and to the point, they do not hover but you’re never without whatever you need. Price is competitive among like restaurants. Even the music was spot on. Highly recommend!!
Amazing service even on a Friday evening. The food was amazing. Staff was very attentive and seemed generally happy to be there. Definitely 10 out of 10 will play again.
