“Excellent food, friendly staff, and quick service made our first time trying Famous Dave's very positive! First impression on walking in was that it smells incredible from all the meats smoking and cooking in the back, and it looks extremely clean which a lot of BBQ places can't really say about themselves. We started with the loaded fries which were pretty tasty although not the crispiest even for wedge cut fries, but it also was a Sunday and they're really only on the menu weekdays so it was nice of them to make it for us regardless. The jalapeños on top are fresh cut, not the canned and pickled variety, and I love that because the fresh peppers have a totally different flavor profile and heat to them that I prefer. For dinner my wife had the 6 rib plate, while I had the 4 rib and Spare Ribs combo. Honestly, we could have just split the full order of ribs and still had leftovers, and I'm a guy that could put away an entire Little Caesars pizza by myself so that's saying something. You get a LOT of food. The ribs are not the dinky little ribs you get other places, they're closer to the size of beef ribs than any of the pork ribs I've had at other restaurants with famous ribs. They're extremely tender but not so cooked that they don't have any texture left, and the sauce is perfectly caramelized on top. The spare ribs are good too and they come with a cup of fairly spicy sauce that had a pleasant tingle and was a middling consistency neither too runny or too thick. Each combo comes with some sides you can choose, and they're pretty standard BBQ fare like mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, green beans, BBQ beans, etc. and the corn on the cob was our choice (great choice too). But the star of the sides is their cornbread, which is moist and sweet unlike most places that go with the more dry and savory style, and I could eat like 3 pounds of it if I had the chance. 5/5 we'll be back for seconds! Right after we finish our leftovers, that is.”
