It's been a little while since I've eaten at this establishment. The staff and service are both very excellent. The menu has a diverse variety and selection of various styles and showcases a respectable selection of Asian and traditional Chinese cuisine. My personal favorite is the Hot & Sour soup. The dish is a very finicky and difficult dish to achieve the desired flavor between spicy and sour. Hong Kong 97 manages this feat superbly. I have nothing but praise for the excellent staff. For lunch dining, I highly recommend the quiet and cozy lounge.
I love their food and the service. The building needs some help. However, I know that they most likely don't own the building and, like most land lords, theirs is too cheap to do repairs. All that aside their sauce is one of the best takes for General Tso's Chicken I have ever had.
The best quality Chinese Food I’ve had in a very long time. We came here because they serve Subgum Chicken Chow Mien, which isn’t easy to find.
Before we ordered I heard a gentleman, who was clearly a regular, joke that if the food here wasn’t so good they wouldn’t be so busy. And busy they were.
Lots of take out and a full dining-room.
From here on out this is the spot. Love the BBQ pork, which wasn’t your normal BBQ Pork as it was fresh and perfectly cooked.
The rest of the meal was like that too; very impressive.
I enjoyed the addition of fermented black beans in the General Tso chicken. The potstickers were huge. Plate of 6 was too much for 2 people.
I highly recommend this Chinese food!! This location specifically! I originally was headed for the one on McLoughlin Boulevard where I've been multiple times because they have pretty good Chinese food and I'm very picky. They ended up being randomly closed so I decided to go to the one off King Road. I've never had better sweet and sour pork! It had a thicker breading than what I've typically . I get mine with sauce on the side. the lady taking my order at the register was so very nice and even got me ice water while I waited for my food since it was a to go order. The food sat at my house for 25 minutes after I got home before I even opened it and it was a good 15 minute drive and when I opened it it was still piping hot it didn't taste like it had been in a plastic bag or affected by the moisture you would have thought it came right out the kitchen it was amazing highly highly recommend! We will definitely be coming back not just that but indoor dining was so nice super clean you didn't see a lot of storage chairs or extra stuff off to the side like you sometimes do it the other one I didn't see the bar this time but I will definitely definitely be back already looking forward to next time!
