Sandy Police Department

Discretion is the name of the game with community policing and at least some of your officers seem to grok that. A give and take relationship is critical to being an effective law enforcement officer and contributes to safety and informant development by the virtue of not pissing people off totally. The anthesis of community policing is officiousness.

So me and my friend thought someone was in my house called the cops and they were there in under 1 min or so thankfully there wasn’t anyone I forgot the officers names but they made me feel safe thank you for risking your lives and protecting me and my house

I am impressed that the Sandy Police Department seems to authentically understand community and shows an interest in preserving that community. I have seen them demonstrate understanding of trauma informed care, mental health awareness, and approach problems with a sincere effort to resolve the issue rather than to be punitive. I appreciate their approach and good intentions.

Luckily I have no personal experience with the Sandy PD, but i know that they do an excellent job and I always support our officers!

I'm 18 year old male that lives on Wall Street in sandy

Someone was on standing outside my window at 1 am and I have a low melatonin so I have trouble sleeping so I'm laying in bed trying to sleep and I hear a ding like metal clicking but I didn't think to much of it until I saw the person out side my window so I chuck my remote at the window getting my knife to chase after who ever this was I'm screaming at who ever this is to stop and too show me their hands. But they kept running. So I punched my screen out to pursue this subject and I yell to my father to call 911 and to tell them that (someone is trying to get in) and to my surprise they were there in 2-3 mins with two squad cars -- I hand to toss my knife in the yard so I didn't get in trouble. But I gave them a discription of the subject and which way he fled (E bound towards the church on leginson rd) got into a car and drove off.

I hadn't herd back from the police yet, later to day I will call and ask for an officer to come to my residence to show them the tool shed that they got into and the tools that are scattered around the side of my house along with ladders.

They did not get who ever did this yet. -- but that church were the subject was parked at has CCTV cameras 24/7.

AND IF YOU EVER TRY TO TAKE MY WINDOW SCREEN OF ILL WILL NOT HESITATE TO USE LETHAL FORCE ON YOU!
