Dabney State Recreation Area

Came here for the disc golf course which is very nice. Good technical course very fun to play. Recommended to play with friends just so you have a spotter. Will definitely come back to play again.

Checked out the beach access after my round and the beach is quite nice and I can see why so many people start their floating adventures there. Super nice beach I recommend checking it out. I know I will for sure.

Highly recommend water socks! Much of the shoreline has small/medium river rocks. Hard to walk while barefooted. Then when ya get into the water, those rocks are slimy.

The river temperature was great! Cooled us off on a hot summer day. The water was a bit murky but did not smell bad.

Some portions of the shore were sandy; those areas were crowded.

They only negatives were some litter and loud music trying to play over each other.

There are several riverfront areas to enjoy the sandy River, this was probably no better no worse than the others but still it was very nice. Clean bathroom at the parking lot , $5 day use fee if you don't have OR State Park Pass. Crime is a concern so don't leave anything in car. Lots of nice grills and picnic tables in woods and close to beach access. Young laid back party crowd, and also lots of large families with kids. FAST MOVING CURRENT in rivers center but manageable along banks. Nice cool water with beach in full sun, okay sand... lots of gravel mixed with sand at beach and silt and gravel and rock bottom in river. Beautiful views. Lovely Day. Highly recommended.

Nice park. Picnic tables and bbq's are provided. Nice grassy areas two parking lots so plenty of parking available. There are public restrooms. There are walking paths.
