Beautiful wild space to enjoy nature. Many small paths that meander through the woods. It is easy to get lost and is not the best park for young children, due to the fact is is mostly steep forest, but is a great area to spot wildflowers, woodpeckers, and animals. However there are no signs at any of the junctions in the woods, and lots of deer paths that may mislead you from the main paths, so be able to retrace your steps in case you get turned around!
There also is a bmx bike trail hidden in the woods too! (It is slightly overgrown)
Beautiful place, garbage in various spots from old camps though. I still like to take my dog on putting a there though, she loves the woodsy area and can't get lost
I love this place but it is really more of a small wilderness preserve with a small hiking trail than what most people think of as a "park". If you are looking for picnic tables, playgrounds, bathrooms or any pavement you will be disappointed. There is no central parking, just small trails in from side streets in the neighborhood all around. If you want to take a stroll in the trees or ride your mountain bike and not see manu other people, you will be pleased with what you find. Lots of nettles and brambles so be careful if you take kids or pets!
Love walking the trails all throughout the butte... I gained access via the east side...see Google Maps.... I like that it's not really a developed park.. And the water tower at the top is cool too.
There are no restrooms....and the trails are mostly straight up and down....but hey if that's the workout your looking for then this is the right butte.
