Jackson Bottom is a visual symphony of terrain and bird cornucopia, including eagles! Everyone should visit and donate. HOWEVER the whole thing is under water during the winter! I went here in December and yeah, 90% submerged, not worth the drive at all. So make sure to check ahead that the park has sufficiently toweled itself off. If you're visiting to attend a program in the visitors' center the season doesn't matter as much I suppose.
A wonderful place to get in a run, hike or walk, relax, bird watch, and all around enjoy the beauty of the wildlife and scenery. This specific tag on maps is the north entrance, which is the smallest of the two, with a path that leads to the opposite end of the park. This specific entrance is cozied up to the waste processing facility for Hillsboro, which brings a wonderfully odoriferous scent to the air on those sunny 80+ degree days.
Nice little area for an evening stroll or a flat easy hike, total trails in the area are about 4 miles if you complete all the loops. Very close to Hillsboro. Lots of birds chirping and blossoms. Only saw a few people, most were wearing masks (some weren't, so please wear a mask and follow social distancing).
