I couldn't say enough good things about Oregon Dream Ponies! My 2 year old daughter loves horses, so for her birthday I wanted to find some sort of experience for her to interact with them. I did a Google deep dive and luckily found Oregon Dream Ponies. I scheduled a one hour session, for 2 ponies (one for the birthday girl and one for her older brother, age 6). Booking was really easy through their website. The drive there takes you through beautiful bucolic country roads. When you arrive, sweet Cowgirl Kim greets you with a wam hello and the experience begins! From the first moment, Kim and her husband Cowboy Bob were so welcoming, friendly, and lovely. They are genius at whisking little kids into a world of ponies. She just took both kids by the hand and away they went, learning about the ponies, petting them, and then riding and doing a few tricks. Kim is a former teacher, and her gift for kids really shines. And Bob is amazing too - my son was really nervous, and Bob gently coached him through it, including doing deep breathing! I left feeling like we just visited a special magical little corner of the world and were better for it. I cannot believe this place isn't all over all the PDX parenting blogs and insta posts because it is truly special for any kind of kid experience. Highly recommend!!
I’ve taken my grandson to Oregon Dream Ponies two times now, and we will be back. Bob and Kim are wonderful teachers, and communicators, teaching your children and grandchildren about how to care for horses, how to ride horses and how to communicate with horses. Not your typical pony ride. So much more. Grateful to Bob and Kim for sharing their ponies and their hearts with us.
I brought my daughters here for a birthday celebration, and they had a wonderful and meaningful experience with the ponies. Kim and Bob clearly put a lot of thought into all of the details of the visit. I appreciate how they include important lessons on safety, responsibility, and care for animals in this fun and cheerful introductory riding session, which provides beginning riders with the foundation for a lifetime of positive interactions with horses. All of the 5-star ratings are well-deserved!
My daughter loved this experience. We went during Covid for her 4th birthday since nothing else was open. the couple was hygienic and fallowed the guidelines with masks and such. Nonetheless my daughter talks about this awesome opportunity a year later! I look forward to coming here again for her next birthday. She got to dress the pony in her favorite colored saddle and ribbons and even a cute unicorn horn. Then she giggled as she got onto the pony She learned so much about proper pony grooming, and riding with the “whoa” and “go” commands. They even did a cute trick at the end with the horse. 10/10 the best place to take your child to start their journey with proper pony care and fun.
Amazing! The girls loved everything about it and had a great time. Loved the location. Very experienced and safe for our 3 year olds. Will come back again, maybe for a pony party next time 😊
