(August 30, 2019, 8:27 am)I’ve been working out with Mike for 3 years now. I’m 3+ years in remission from having cancer. My oncologist said to me recently, you’re my healthiest patient. You’re incredible shape and you drive me crazy, because you don’t listen to me. Whatever it is that you’re doing keep doing it! When I got sick, I went from running marathons to barely being able to walk 20 minutes and I lost all of my muscle mass. I joined Mike’s gym three years ago hoping that boxing would help....it’s years later and I’m still here!
I’ve belonged to many gyms over the years. “Chain gyms” were never my thing. MMA is fun and an incredible workout. BJJ, boxing, kick boxing, Muay Thai...they have it all. The instructors are all very nice, patient and knowledgeable. Top Tier offers a variety of classes on the weekends and evening week days, plus open gym time.
This gym is my happy place and the most down to earth people you’ll ever meet!

I have nothing but love and great memories being welcomed to the top tier family. Even though i had to leave Pittsburgh I will always rep Top Tier and all the staff you know who you guys are the coolest dudes in the burgh. Much love and respect.
(May 7, 2018, 2:36 pm)I practice BJJ at Top Tier MMA. The facility is large so running into other people while rolling is not really an issue. The price is very reasonable and the people are super friendly and inviting. There is no negative air here! Brian, the instructor, is incredibly knowledgeable and is a very humble person. His training method is unique and very effective. If your looking for a place to really learn BJJ then check this place out. I haven't done MMA here but I can say that there is ample equipment and I have heard others say that the training is great.
(August 21, 2017, 9:28 pm)Been going to Top Tier for about 6 months. I initially started with the MMA class and loved it so much I decided to also start taking Brazilian jujitsu. All the coaches are wonderful and it's a pretty inviting atmosphere. I came in there at 285 and I'm down to 240. I wasn't as mobile, moved as quick and and got winded fast. They worked with me and taught me to slow down and how to be effective at my size. I love the place!
(July 20, 2015, 1:03 pm)Great Pittsburgh gym. Don't let the weird hallway to get to the gym deter you. If you are sick of the elliptical, definitely try this out! Total body workout, and I feel like I am keeping up my athleticism (& coordination) here. Excellent instructors and fantastic people to work out with alongside you; motivating and positive atmosphere. Get your stress out on those heavy bags and rest easy at night. And how much fun is it to tell people at the office that "I work out at a fight gym"?! ;)
