Portage Learning

I just finished taking Chemistry 103 w/ Labs through Portage Learning and I absolutely loved my learning experience. I was able to go at my own pace, which was such a blessing since I often feel that in-person classes move too slowly through the course content. With Portage Learning, there are guidelines preventing you from flying through the material too fast, as that could result in an inability to learn it thoroughly, but the guidelines don't prevent you from going through it at a reasonable pace. I also appreciated that they do enforce academic integrity as you are video monitored throughout module exams since I got the opportunity to learn from home. The lecture material was surprisingly clear and straightforward for me to understand. My assignments were all graded promptly (aside from the weekends as the instructors are given time to rest from their classes), and my instructor would make helpful comments to share insight about my homework and grades, etc... Overall, I cannot say enough good about my learning experience with Portage Learning! I loved the self-paced method and ability to work hard to go through the material at a speed that was good for me. I highly recommend taking classes through Portage Learning.

I took Nutrition and Developmental Psychology, and had a great experience with both. I needed 2 more classes for nursing school, and was able to complete both within 4-6 months on my own time. The professors were very supportive, and both of them graded all of my assignments in a timely manner. One of the biggest perks is the price of all of the classes. They can't be beat especially because all of these credits transfer to most schools. I would highly recommend to anyone needed any of their classes for nursing school!!

Initially, I was nervous about taking all of the nursing prerequisite courses online, but they were all approved by the schools I applied. I am so glad I chose to take them here. Learning at my own pace worked well for me, and it was the most advantageous program I could find among other online programs in that I can start whenever I wanted to without waiting as other off/online school programs didn't offer some of the courses during that time, so I would have to wait for an entire quarter or semester to take them. Moreover, I was able to keep my full-time job, and still, I was able to take classes successfully. All of the professors and staff were very supportive and responsive as well! And thankfully I was accepted to my top choice/dream nursing school, and I am currently a nursing student! It was the best experience and I highly recommend Portage!

Portage was such an essential aspect in my path to becoming a nurse. I wanted to start my journey as soon as I could, but with Covid and some expired prerequisites, I was not sure how soon I could begin that journey. An academic advisor at a nursing program I was looking at had recommended it to me. The thought of being able to do the required courses needed to fulfill my degree at the pace that I wanted to sounded like a scam at first. When I looked into it, I was so surprised at how affordable it was considering the circumstances. I was, and still am, incredibly impressed with what Portage had to offer for me. I absolutely loved my teachers (especially my chemistry teacher Ken Hartman, and I have always hated Chemistry). It was convenient, timely, and a life saver for me. I have 3 friends who I have suggested this program to and they all still thank me for doing so. Highly highly highly recommend!

I have taken 4 courses through Portage Learning and have been very successful in all of them. It is easy to enroll and navigate. I work full time and am a mother so the flexibility to be able to do the work on my own time was perfect for me. I wasn't tied to strict deadlines, so I feel I was actually learning the information rather than memorizing to take an exam. In addition, all of my courses transferred without difficulty. I have and will continue to recommend Portage Learning!
