Hopewell Fire Tower

It is a shame that the park closed the tower and fenced off the access but it was getting run down so you can see why. Hopefully they will restore it and open it back up. I am certainly willing to volunteer for that as I had a great time here from hanging out in the pavilion and starting a fire to keep warm and cook some food to hiking all the trails. Even proposed to the wife on the top stair of the tower over 25 years ago in the middle of winter just after a snow storm. And yes we are still married! Beautiful part of the park and a great destination when hiking.

It's too bad you can't climb the tower, but you can challenge yourself to ride you bicycle to the tower and enjoy the scenery from there.
