Lovely, peaceful lake owned by the PA fish and boat commission. Fishing regulations fall under the "Big Bass Lake" category. This means their open fishing seasons are different from the standard rules.
Small lake with good shore access, nice boat ramp, and solid walking trails. Fishing here is good, though tends to be hampered by weeds, especially in the summer. A few geocaches nearby make this Berks county gem a well-roundes recreation area all can enjoy.
It's such a great place to go and collect your thoughts. It's small, but beautiful. It's been closed except for the boat ramp, which means it's generally quiet. Kayaking there last weekend was a blast. There's a lot of wildlife.
In the winter, it's a quiet refuge of solitude.
In the summer there are people boating and fishing. Blue herons nest here and fish, usually more effectively than the people. Fish jump and splash throughout the day.
