Bluethistle B&B

The Blue Thistle is wonderful Great hosts that make you feel welcome! The food was wonderful. The room I stayed in was clean, charming, and comfortable! I will stay there next year when I go to the Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival! I highly recommend the Blue Thistle!

Everything about the Blue Thistle was wonderful! They thought of every little detail to make our stay amazing! The house and rooms were spotless and the food was amazing! The fresh, home grown strawberries were such a treat! We look forward to visiting again!

We had a fantastic stay at Blue Thistle! An older home with lots of character and beautiful remodeling/updates like all new bathrooms, noise machines for the bedrooms, lamps with USB ports and a Keurig. The rooms were clean and comfortable with enough space for our portable crib. The hosts live across the driveway and were on-site to welcome us and show us around. They cooked a delicious breakfast for us each morning and even brought a booster seat and set of kid's dishes for us to use during our stay. Definitely went out of their way to make us feel at home and have a relaxing stay. We look forward to our next visit!

Our experience at the Bluethistle was fantastic. It is very clean and has all the amenities most people want, in an older remodeled home with a lot of character. We stayed three nights, and had the first floor room (Harp Room) with a queen bed. It has a large, nicely-equipped bathroom with a large shower. The sitting room and kitchen are also on the first floor. With only two potential family units in the entire house (one on first floor and one on second), it is very peaceful. There is some noise from the road; the owners provide ear plugs and a white noise machine if that is an issue.

Tom and Kaye are wonderful hosts. They live next door. They greeted us warmly on our arrival. Kaye prepared a wonderful breakfast each day of our stay: egg dishes, homemade bread, fruit, juice, coffee, etc. The Keurig is available for early morning or after-dinner coffee or tea. I interacted with Tom before our visit, because our plans kept shifting a day earlier or later. This gave me a good impression even before we got there.

Close to Portersville are two nice Pennsylvania State Parks, McConnell's Mill State Park, and Moraine State Park. Both are less than 15 minutes from the B&B, and offer hiking and other recreation. We spent a few hours at each one, in between events we were there for. If we are back in the area again, we will definitely want to stay at the Bluethistle!

We had an excellent overnight stay. The house is charming, was beautifully clean, and our room was very comfortable. The small kitchen and dining area had everything we needed, including some delicious pastry. The housekeeper/owner lives on site and welcomed us with a tour of the house. A delightful discovery that we hope to visit again!
