“(12/08/18) Chesterbrook location My first appointment with Shady Grove was in August of 2017. I had just switched from another fertility clinic that had terrible bedside manner, terrible nurses but a pretty nice front desk. That shouldn't be the only positive of an office. So when I called Shady Grove I was nervous that maybe all these clinics are all the same. I'm happy to report that they are not. The phone staff was amazingly nice. They got me scheduled quickly and within my schedule. I saw Dr. Callan, and I was delivered the unfortunate news that my BMI was too high to start ttc. Obviously I was heart broken. I suffer from PCOS so weight loss isn't exactly just eating less. It was important to Dr. Callan that I stay regular with my periods so in the interim he gave me progesterone to keep the cycle normal. My previous clinic scolded me about uterine cancer then didn't bother to prescribe me any progesterone. Thankfully, due to a new medication, I was able to lose the weight and begin ttc again. Everyone in the office praised me for my hard work and effort. We got trying in April 2018 and on my first round I got pregnant. Unfortunately, it didn't last and I ended up having a miscarriage. The entire two months worth of blood work and ultrasounds was very trying and the staff at Shady Grove was there for me each step of the way. Chrissie is my nurse coordinator and she's been fabulous. She answers all of my questions and I never feel like I'm being rushed off the phone. At one point, the pharmacy I was using really effed up, and I had to make an emergency weekend call for more meds. The weekend staff was quick to respond and I had the meds by that afternoon. When I told Chrissie I didn't want to use them again, she quickly got me in touch with a new pharmacy. Sadly, I have run into more problems from cysts to missing ovulation, so I haven't gotten pregnant again, but we're still working on it. Dr Callan listens to what I have to say. I told him I wanted to switch meds and no more shots, and as the shots have been offered to me, Shady Grove understands that they're expensive so they don't push them on me. Over all, I wish I had come here first. The years I wasted at the other clinic could have been spent with Shady Grove. It's hard picking the right clinic, and I hope my review will help others to decide to come here.”
