I've been coming here for 10 years and it's so good. The food is so good and the beer is good. The best thing to get hands down is the welsh rarebit with a Guinness. It might be pricey, but it's worth it.
Love the food, love the drinks, love the atmosphere.
One of my favorite places to go locally. I always recommend it when I get a chance.
The only thing is that it's pretty small and LOTS of people love it so it can get packed really quick (especially on weekends). It's not uncommon to have a long wait, so plan for that.
Absolutely delicious and our server was wonderful! Thank you Cheryl! We had The Ploughmans Lunch and The Sausage gravy, both were wonderful!
Excellent brunch! Our table of 6 each got something different and everyone was so happy. We got there right at 10 on Sunday and got seated right away, but there was a line when we left, so earlier is better for this small place. We will absolutely be back, so many more good dishes to try!
The Whip has excellent food and good service, but they are a bit pricey. They are, however, the only place in the area to have U.K. Staples like shepherds pie, bangers and mash, Welsh rarebit, and sticky toffee pudding. If you're a dessert fan, you NEED to get that pudding. Seriously. It's delicious both by itself or topped with ice cream.
They have a lot of beer both in he bottle or on tap, and a decent selection of appetizers, soups, and salads . The atmosphere is very warm and that usually have some sort of sports on their TVs. The other day it was rugby and soccer.
Parking is a main concern. Don't bring multiple cars, don't bring a big truck, don't bring a Hummer. The lit is small and parking can be tough. This place is well worth the effort though. My final recommendation is that you should definitely go.
You don't have to be a rider to enjoy an ale or two at this traditional English pub in the heart of horse country. Serving classic pub fare and a bit of American nosh as well. P

The Whip Tavern is one of our new faves. It is an english pub but with real seasoning and the food is not overcooked. A huge disappointment. I chose the Whip Tavern for my birthday. I knew it was a long trip but figured the fall countryside would make the trip go well. Route 30 that night was backed up from York to Trenton (yes, Trenton, NEW JERSEY) so we had to tack on another hour.
