“I came home from work Monday afternoon to a cold house (it was 11 degrees out). It was 40-something degrees inside. After troubleshooting the t-stat, I called 2 local companies. Neither "on call" technician called me back, even after calling their dispatchers at least 4 times. I set up camp on the sofa. About 4:30 AM, I called R&D. They sent their technician (Ryan) out that afternoon. He was totally professional and went out of his way to try and get my heat going. Unfortunately, the motor had shorted and fried the control board. Given the age of the unit, I decided it would be best to replace the unit. Before he left he told me that a service rep would be here the next morning to give me an estimate. The rep called me at about 8 AM and told me he was on the way. Showed up a half hour later, and gave an estimate that was actually less than I expected. They set up installation for day after tomorrow. Update: Installation guys showed up on time, completed the job, no surprises. Great job R&D. Thanks”
