In 1970, while employed as a Philadelphia Highway Patrolman, I received multiple gunshot wounds during a gun battle in West Philadelphia. One slug struck my right elbow, breaking the right arm and severing the ulnar nerve. I lost feeling and control of two fingers. Dr. Shatouhy operated on me at Mercy Catholic Medical Center, Misericordia Division, several blocks from where the shooting occurred. He did an excellent job!! Now, some 45 years later, I am happy to report the repair has exceeded all my expectations. Needless to say, I think the world of Dr. Shatouhy. .
