It's a great place to take your family it's clean mice dressing rooms but no snack bar so bring your own
Nice camp and pool area.
Pros:
Cottages are clean, convenient and provide an alternative to tents and campers
Bathrooms/showers are clean and well maintained.
Quiet
Pet friendly sites
Plenty of space to spread out
Pool and splash park are great for hot days
Cons:
Very remote, so plan to not have cell service or GPS close to the park.
No playground for children in the campground.
Driving around Ryerson State Park left me sad. Without the lake, and all the construction going on, the park feels anemic. The new pool tries hard with new water features, but still seems a little under done and the day use area somewhat small. The overhead roof and supports in the pool parking area look like turnpike toll booths as you approach from Bristoria Road. The large industrial plant near the broken dam doesn't help the drab atmosphere.
So what's good? Well if you like a small campground, Ryerson has only 35 sites and 5 cabins. The McNay Ridge group camping area also seems nice. For a small park, Ryerson has 13 miles of trails making hiking a good activity here.
There is a varied selection of winter activities at the park including sledding, tobogganing, cross country skiing and snow
mobiling.
Hunting is allowed in hunting season.

What a wonderful place to visit! The pool and splash pad are free! They have lifeguards as well. It was very clean and very well maintained. The park ranger was there checking things which was wonderful.
Ryerson Station State Park is the hidden gem of Greene County. Due to the removal of the lake this park does not get as much traffic as it should. They are in the process of rebuilding the pool area, it will be fantastic when complete sometime in the second half of 2021.
