My dad has been here for 5 years and still there. The food is plenty and very good, the staff is wonderful, he is always clean, hair and nails always well groomed, he is always shaved. They bath him regularly and his cloths always washed and cleaned. His room is always clean including his bedding and his draws and closets very organized. Staff DOES NOT rush feeding patients and are very patient making sure all are well feed. They keep the patients very active always in activities such as donut and ice cream socials, bingo, board games, music karaoke, arts and crafts, outside gazebo and garden beautiful. Staff calls family immediately if any issues. My dad there 5 years and never been sick not even a cold because of the wonderful medical and emotional care they give him. He once lost his eye glasses after searching with no success they notified me immediately and rush ordered him another pair. I told my children I want to be sent here when I get old. Not sure why all the negative reviews.

My mom has been in multiple facilities the past 3, almost 4, months and LOVES this place. She had a 6 day heart attack, I brought her to the GCMC in Scranton on April 7th. On April 10th she had triple bypass surgery and either during or immediately after she suffered a stroke. She was in the ICU at GCMC for a few weeks and went to the LTACH in Danville (as per Dr. Stivala) and was MISERABLE! She's non-verbal and they took her call button away! Then she died for 15 seconds on the Friday before she was supposed to be transported to a skilled nursing facility (Mid Valley Healthcare Center in Peckville) so she had a pace maker put in and begged not to go back to that LTACH so we sent her to the Wilkes Barre LTACH. She was a little happier there. Then she finally went to Mid Valley where she was kind of happy and I was getting the training needed to take care of her, until she got pneumonia and a blood infection and was admitted back into the hospital, this time the Regional (the old Mercy in Scranton) she was then released to Allied and when I visited her the next day it was lunch time and they brought her a (real) chicken breast sandwich and good corn chowder soup. We told the guy all she wants is broth, yogurt and Jello, but leave it because I'll eat it (it was quite good) and within 15 minutes he was back with broth and yogurt. That made me happy. She's moved her right side more in the past week than she did in the months leading up to Allied. They've been nothing but friendly, and I just called to leave a message for my mom for one of the nurses to give to her (again, she can't talk right now so no phone) and they were all so pleasant and willing to do their jobs! Great place, I would highly recommend!
