“My 5 children all went to Adamstown Elem. My youngest just moved to the MS last school year. So for close to 20 years I have volunteered, had meetings, gone to band concerts & helped out with book fairs. It is a wonderful place for a child to learn, grow & make friends. The staff & admin are so kind & always willing to help out.”

“I have had the privilege of staying at this location twice. BOTH times it was an over-the-top experience. From the accomodations, to the ambiance to the dining it was a top-notch experience. The Innkeepers are empathic, caring individuals who anticipated our needs and made us feel like royalty. The area is rife with antique-shops, mentionable dining and the opportunity to learn more about our Central PA neighbors, the Amish and Mennonite enclaves. If you ever find yourself near Lancaster, take a bit of a drive northwest and have a stay. You will NOT be disappointed; $$$$-service for $$-expenditure.”

“My wife and I have been staying at the Amethyst the same weekend just about every year for the last 8 to 9 years and this B&B is second to none in every category! From the cozy rooms, that all come equipped with an oversized jacuzzi, to the charming decor and the absolutely delicious breakfasts that are all homemade from scratch fresh every morning, your stay here is guaranteed to be memorable! The Innkeepers, Jackson and Allie are super friendly and very accommodating to all your needs. It's obvious to us that their main goal is to give you a truly exceptional stay! Jackson, thanks so much for making our weekend getaway just as memorable as all the of our stays at the Amethyst! We'll see you again next year! Thanks again! Rick & Karla”

“I have been meaning to get to Bollman's outlet for a while now and I finally made the trek. And it's well worth it! The building itself isn't that large. A simple cinder-block building, about 40' wide by 20' deep. It does get terrific daylight (useful when you want to judge the true color of a hat without needing to walk outside with it), and there are mirrors all around to take a look at yourself. Remember that it *is* an outlet, so while the prices are dramatically better than a traditional hat store, you will have some frustration in that you will pick up the wrong size hat a number of times until you find that style in your size, -or- maybe you *won't*! (remember, this is an outlet!) The clerk offered some advice when I asked for her opinion, which was appreciated. For instance, two of the three Bailey of Hollywood Polypropylene hats I purchased for Summer came in my size in either a Trilby or Pork Pie, but we both agreed that I looked better in the Trilby. Not all of the hats were synthetic, I don't want to give you that impression -- there were plenty of felt fedoras, wool hats with or without ear flaps for winter, tweed and wool flat caps, straw Panama and cowboy hats, etc., etc. Not too many hats for women, but as the clerk explained, their inventory across the board changes a few time per month to a few times per week. Hat prices are quite reasonable; most are outlet-priced at $25-49, with the possible exception of the ones behind the clerk by the register. Winter beanies with pom-poms were between $15-18. If you are serious about your hats, plan to spend a few *HOURS* poking around. Best bet is to bring a list of what you already have, so you know where you have holes in your collection. Or take photos of them on your phone beforehand. If you want to get in a meal before or after you shop, I suggest Shady Maple Smorgasbord or Pancake Farm (it's a diner), both are about 10 miles/15 minutes away. Bollman Hat Factory Outlet is also just 6 miles, 12 minutes from The Green Dragon (a famous indoor/outdoor flea market) -- but remember that the Green Dragon is *only* open on Fridays.”

“We were on our way to the Lantern Festival by York, PA. This little gem was on the way. I researched good ice cream in this area, and google showed me Boehringer's. It blew our expectations away! The staff was very nice. The people that go there are pretty nice. The atmosphere is just great. The bench by the creeks where flocks of ducks chill, and swim. Sometimes they even come to where the bench area is. We tried their coffee, cookies and cream, and chocolate almond amaretto ice cream. They were so good! Very thick and creamy! We'd definitely come back if we're around the area. >Great staff >Great ice cream (haven't tried their food) >Great prices >Great location”
