“This area of Lancaster County is a true gem, an outdoor oasis. The streams, waterfalls, mature undergrowth, rhododendron groves, beautiful overlooks, and challenging hiking makes this place fun. There's a great network of trails throughout, but don't be fooled, some areas can be quite challenging for the uninitiated. Get out into the woods and enjoy the creation!”

“The new pollinator park they installed is beautiful. I visited in late October, so not everything was blooming. But it gave me so good ideas for what I can do on my property to foster pollinators and, thereby, other wildlife.”

“A beautiful park. My family and I took a walk on the Lakeshore trail, which took about 2.5 hours. The scenery was beautiful and we counted about 15 deer. The walk around the lake was not difficult at all, but the trail is primitive. We encountered a number of other hikers and also saw many people enjoying the lake in kayaks and small fishing boats.”

“Dutch Cousin Campground is fairly small, maybe 80 sites or so. Most of the sites are shaded in the summer and I believe all the sites have water and electricity during the regular camping season. Most but not all sites have sewer hookup. The campground is owned and run by a very nice middle aged couple who live in the house at the campground entrance. About 70% of the sites are occupied by seasonal campers. My favorite thing about this campground is, it doesn't have a swimming pool. Pools are only open for three months but the campers pay for the pool year round, plus no pool, no packs a kids running around causing problems. Dutch Cousin Campground is a nice quiet family campground.”

“Went there to play mini golf several times. While the facility is a little run down, it is a great place to go to have a family fun night. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would go back.”

“I went here for an Amish Softball Tournament and it was great. Nice to see all the buggies lined up nice to see the great Amish people and enjoy their Spirit of giving. Softball fields were nice was a great day everything was wonderful. Been there about ten times, and look to come back again. It's also right off Route 30, fairly easy to see because your elevated at Route 30 and you can look down and see it.”

“The White Oaks Campground is a quite little RV park close to Lancaster. The park is fine if your looking to get away but the site are not totally level and internet is a little slow.. Your also close to your neighbor which isn't a big deal if you get a good one like I did. I would recommend it for a quick stop to visit Lancaster Pa.”

“Great hiking area that has trails from novice to advance. Can cover a lot of ground depending what you are up to. This is public game land and should be avoided during hunting season unless you wear orange. Usually log about 12 miles over the course of a day hunting there”

Address: Scalpy Hollow Rd, Holtwood, PA 17532, USA
“Fishing Creek gets quite wide here near the parking area and when it's dry, the water level is low enough to walk in the creek. It's less popular than other local preserves, so it's a great place to go to if you want peace and quiet. I recommend walking along the creek and explore one of the paths that branch from that, as the main path carved across the stream is a bit drab. Take note of the boundaries on the map by the entrance and keep an eye out for "no trespassing" signs as the area brushes up against a few wooded private property lines. Across the road, there's another path buries in the woods. If you walk along the road towards Oregon Hollow road, you see it a few hundred yards away from the parking lot on the right. It's a nice short trail that provides a nice view of the valley. I'd say you could spend about three hours here and kill the main trail and majority of the stream. ”

“Stayed a couple nights tent camping with my cousin on a bike trip. Some campgrounds barely tolerate motorcycle campers. These folks really went out of their way to look out for us. It rained for one solid day HARD, they came by to check on us and even offered to let us slide our tents under the nearby pavilion roof if it got real bad. Everything was clean and we'll maintained and they have full service hookups so I can bring my RV back for a stay also. Great scenery for riding in a real pretty part of the country.”

“I’ve been camping over 40 years and I’ll tell you one thing about this place - you won’t find a cleaner bath house anywhere. Our cabins interior was wonderfully finished, and the setting was as quiet as advertised. It’s a nice alternative to a motel.”

“Nice little park. Enjoyable stroll. Virtual tour can be tough to use, but there are any number of tree identification apps that can help out. Great variety of trees and shrubs, with what looks like an abundant pawpaw crop coming this Fall.”

“The park is a relaxing location in the town of Intercourse. They have a nice play area for children with about 3 or 4 play sets. There are sand pits for volleyball and a long walking trail with a pond and fountain in the center. A pavilion provides protection if a passing storm comes during the summer.”

“Great short hike, offering terrain that's challenging in some spots and leisurely in others. I've spotted deer here on multiple occasions, as well as chipmunks, squirrels, and a great variety of birds. Stuart's Run flows through the park.”
