“What a delightful find! BF Hiestand house is a lovely, stately 19th century home full of warmth and charm. Dallas welcomed us warmly and gave us a brief history of the home. We stayed two nights in this very comfortable mansion. Comfy beds, super soft sheets, bathrooms were clean, and I loved the thick white fluffy towels. I would love to come back in the summer and experience sitting on their beautiful covered front porch listening to those exquisite wind chimes. Pam prepared Amazing breakfasts with fruit compotes, baked oatmeal, elegantly prepared eggs homemade banana bread and bacon and sausage. Appointments were top notch in this cozy, warm home. Pam asked us what we wanted to see while in Lancaster County and developed a perfect itinerary for us guiding us to some hidden gems. By the time we left, we felt like we were saying good bye to good friends. We look forward to returning!”

“This was a sensational find. The trail is paved and easy to navigate even for somebody with a handicap. The views of the rock outcroppings are exceptional. It is pet friendly, kid friendly, and hike/bike friendly. The meander is a gentle amble through the river basin.”

“It's a great park with old farm buildings surrounded by woods and creek. The main area is open and inviting for family reunions and picnics. A playground and open grass area invite to play. A nice little gem just away from the main trail along the Susquehanna.”

“Neat, relatively easy trail. Beautiful overlook over the Susquehanna and railroad tracks. Occasionally, you get to see some rock climbers trying to climb if you go through the bottom entrance on the right near the pump house towards the end of the rocks ledges. It's a beautiful place. I love to come here and then go to That Pet Place afterwards. Makes my day.”

“Great place to enjoy nature. The overlook trail is well maintained, making it an easy hike to points overlooking the Susquehanna River. Chickies Rock Overlook is really worth the hike: It overlooks a particularly hard bend in the river, giving both a latitudinal and longitudinal view of the river.”
