“What I love about this place is that it is throw back to the time when you didn't have the big box stores and everything was done in a smaller more personal setting. You went to the local hardware store and the staff would recognize you say good morning and how can I help you , ask about your day, share a joke or two and get the stuff you needed and be on your way, and this would happen each and every time you needed something. Yes honey I'll run to the hardware store, as long as it's Steele's. I hope this never changes...just a quick bonus they have a really cool gift shop upstairs full of holiday decorations, great woman's handbags, lotions creams and more. Something for everyone. ????”

“The associate there was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the situation that we were experiencing, which is a bear that keeps breaking into our car. So we went in looking for something to put over the windows in the house and fear that the next thing the bear will break into is the house. We noticed that they were extremely understaffed and very busy especially seeing the time of year it is but I'm guessing because everyone shops online they do not maintain a full staff. With that being said the associate literally spent a half an hour with us trying to make sure that we had everything that we needed and was trying to come up with ideas that might help us with the situation. Good customer service is hard to find these days but you can still find it there”

“First years ago bought my kayak here. Owner took time with me to help me decide what type of kayak I wanted and the price I wanted to spend. Love my kayak. Then a few years later when went back for cross country skis. He again spent time with me, had me try on everything, worked with me to find a great combo of new and used skis boots and poles. The only thing I got by mail was new boots. When they came they were too small. By then I had moved away and not able to get back to try and find bigger ones. More than a year later I was able to get back and with the same cooperativeness, again owner took his time and had me try several variations to be sure they fit and charged me very little to replace them. I’m very grateful because the boots really need to match the skis and now I can use them. Before without boots, the entire package was no good. So thank you very much for letting me cross country ski again!”
