“Kudos to the entire team at Parry Physical Therapy at the Harleysville and Souderton locations! Six weeks after my Orthopaedist diagnosed me with osteoarthritis in my left hip, I developed excruciating pain starting from my gluteus minimus and extending down my outer leg to my ankle. It was electric, like a bad tooth ache, making it difficult to do even the most common everyday tasks - sitting, getting into a car, bending over to put my shoes on, make my bed... Any fast movement would set off a spasm, and I thought I'd never be normal again. I initially was evaluated by Dana at PPT, and the team started me on a regimen of stretching and strengthening exercises for my weaker left side, explaining that I had been unconsciously avoiding pressure on that side, which weakened the muscles. The team used heat before some sessions on days when the pain was the worst, as well as deep tissue massage. Dr. Jack Parry added his guidance to ensure I was doing the exercises most effectively, and physically stretched my painful side to its limits. I worked with many people there, including Nicole, Bob, and others, who each contributed to my overall healing. Twelve weeks later, I can do physical activities again with no pain. As an example, I am able to climb ladders, play with my grandkids on the floor, carry luggage, drive on long 12-hour trips, climb up-and-down stairs with agility, shovel snow - it is simply amazing. I still have very mild arthritic pain on some days, but nothing like that stabbing, unbearable pain that was impeding my every move. I now do the entire set of stretching and strengthening exercises the Parry Physical Therapy group taught me twice a day to keep me limber, strong, and pain free. I give Dr. Parry and his team the highest recommendation. They do superior work as a team. Through the course of twelve weeks, I also observed how they pay attention to each client to assess their individual pain and what they need to do to overcome it. Therapy tables and equipment are wiped down after every use, as well. I understand how difficult it is to choose the right therapy group - the hesitation, hoping your decision to go for therapy will help. These are professionals who work to understand your pain, constantly re-evaluate your progress, and encourage you to stay with it until you reap the benefits. They use their knowledge and empathy to serve their clients well, and are aces in their field. Thanks to a great team!”
