There's a lake nearby, but you need to bushwhack to get there.
It's a missed opportunity not to have a path leading to at least a viewing area overlooking the lake.
Don't miss the hidden path that cuts through the center of the trees for a nice walk, accessible not far from the parking lot.
(June 9, 2021, 4:14 pm)Perfect quick but not too easy hike! 2.8 mile loop with some steep hills at points. The path is gravel so you’re not actually “in the woods” typical hiking but there are nice tall trees all around and views to look at the whole time. Sorta reminded me of Jurassic park at points. I went when it was overcast but parts of it could probably get really hot in the direct afternoon sun since it’s not completely covered. I also got to catch the sunset there it’s an almost perfect view at the ~mid way point. You’ll know when you’re there. I went downhill first, so that I’d end on the higher parts with more light facing the west
