  Jan is a remarkable gift, both as a midwife and as a woman. Truly. She was there for me during the births of both of my children, the first of whom had an unexpected medical condition. She was the calm, knowledgeable rock we ALL needed her to be, and as a result, everything was handled safely, efficiently and properly. She is also a skilled...seamstress...if you happen to require those services post-partum as I did...twice. Her prenatal care is caring and thorough...the opposite of visiting a doctor’s office, if you are new to the experience of a midwife. You will feel heard. You will be empowered. You can ask any question without feeling silly or embarrassed, and it will be answered with warmth. Moreover, you will be working with someone who truly understands what it is to be a woman. That may sound odd, but it was obvious from the moment I met Jan. Her expertise and experience will provide peace of mind (even to skeptics, like my husband was at first!), but you will quickly discover that she can provide so much more peace, care and control to your pregnancy and birth experience. Thank you, Jan! I love you!

  I feel so very fortunate to have found Jan. She has been our midwife for both our children, with our second being born in the safety and comfort of our home. Jan is an incredible wealth of knowledge and skill, and we felt safe and cared for during our entire pregnancy and delivery. I truly cannot recommend her enough. She is gentle, professional, kind, amazingly capable, grounded, intuitive, and has a humble strength of spirit. If you are considering an alternative birthing experience, I hope you will consider Jan!

  I met Jan when I was 34 weeks pregnant, after yet another negative visit with my OB that left me doubting my body's ability to do what it was designed to do. Jan immediately made me feel calm and comfortable. Even though we only had a few short weeks before my son was born, she made me feel like we had been together the whole pregnancy. Everything about my birth was perfect; I just wish I had gone to her sooner!!

  Jan welcomed two of my beautiful children into the world. She was exactly what I needed in a midwife. Patient. Kind. Caring. Gentle. Yet, strong. I'm ever so grateful to have found her. What a blessing she is!

  When I think of my son's birth I think of her and I smile. She created such a safe space for my husband and I to welcome our son in. I wanted to remember what I felt about Jan when I gave birth to my son. This is an excerpt from an email I wrote to her shortly after my son's birth: "I am so happy right now. I am so grateful to have crossed paths with you and to have had you help us welcome Benjamin into the world. As soon as I met you I felt comfortable with you. I felt comfortable with your energy and with the amount of knowledge and compassion you have. We were truly blessed to have you be a part of the birth. Knowing you were there and hearing your voice helped ground me during the labor. I felt myself loosing control and I would hear your voice and I would completely regain it instantly. You also made Edgar feel comfortable giving birth at home. Having him feel comfortable so early on was priceless for me. I have you to thank for that. He knew it was what I really wanted and your stability and knowledge and compassion helped reinforce that."
