Very interesting place
Great intermediate trail for family outing. Well worth the time. Great scenery, moderate climb, and satisfy a very energetic crew.
A really neat place, the amount of stone work that went into this canal is amazing, and all before the advent of power tools and heavy equipment. The pictures I posted are of the sluice gate, the sawmill and the now empty mill pond that supplied the mill, which was feed by mill creek which at the time, it appears had a dam just on the other side of the bridge. I intend on going back soon to check out the rest of the area, and do some research on the history of the place. A lot of fun if you’re into hiking and local history.
I have been here multiple times to go out and explore the rocks. Does anyone know if camping is permitted in this area? It's been a dream of my friends and I to camp out on one of the islands on the river. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you!
Beautiful place for a hike and a great access for fishing! If you want to get away from you busy life for a few hours and decompress this a great place to do it at. Picnic areas to rest and a lot of history to explore! My wife and I had an exciting day of fishing. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet place in nature to spend a few hours or the full day!
