  Terrific landlord. Rented from Village Realty for over 3 years without any issues. Staff courteous and professional. I paid on time, gave proper notice for vacating the property and all went smoothly - just as you would expect from an excellent realty company. I highly recommend.

  Here is my 100% unbiased opinion:
  
  My husband and I rented our first apartment from Village Realty’s Country Village. We never had issues with the office staff during our time there. The apartment was sufficient for what we paid and we were surprised we got two bedrooms for the price we did, since most companies wanted to charge more for one bedroom than we were paying for two.
  
  I had little interaction with the office staff during my time there because I’m not a complainer and there was nothing wrong with the apartment. When it came time to move, they did a very good job of calling me to let know when they were showing my apartment.
  
  A couple of things to keep in mind:
  
  1) I truly believe paying your rent on time and being a decent tenant goes a long way.
  
  I made a couple of mistakes during the move-in/move-out process, such as never handing in the inspection sheet they give you when you move in and also changing my date for when I was moving out. They were very gracious in both instances and I truly believe it was because we were decent tenants. We got the majority of our security deposit back, even though there was some damage to the apartment when we moved in that we forgot to notate. They could have penalized us for it since we didn’t document it, they didn’t.
  
  2) Understand that you get what you pay for.
  
  No, I didn’t think my apartment was terrible. However, for under $700 a month, I knew there were several things I wasn’t going to get. If you’re expecting brand new, stainless steel appliances and the latest carpet, look elsewhere. Also, that’s unrealistic. Those are expectations you can have for a home you’re buying, not an affordable apartment you’re renting.
  
  3) I’m a person of color married to someone who is not and we never felt discriminated upon.
  
  Lastly, my only dissatisfaction with the apartment was that my neighbor below me smoked in his apartment and the smell came into my apartment through my walk-in closet. For an entire year I had to continuously light candles and take allergy pills due to this. I understand this isn’t necessarily Village Realty’s fault but at the same time, I wondered how it was never caught during inspections and continued to happen.
  
  All in all, Village Realty is a very fair, affordable place to rent from. My suggestion is to give what you expect to get. You can’t be a horrible tenant and expect them to bend over backwards for you. I would definitely recommend renting from them and decided to give this review so people can know to take these reviews with a grain of salt.
