Great place to stretch and get a good walk or bike ride in. Plenty of trails to both walk and ride. Very relaxing and never busy or crowded.
River Park has great trails for all levels of hikers and bikers. The best trail which is worth mentioning is the Piedmont Medical Center Trail which is 2.25 miles on a paved walkway, perfect for a good walk or a bike ride. Ideal for: families with kids in or out of strollers, pet owners, bikers, joggers - you name it. If you had been looking for the excuses to wait for the "right time", you must go to River Park as that will help you to kill that excuse, well, at least it did it for me. Happy hiking.
Nice new concrete r amp to get off the river! Road could be wider since getting popular for parking!
Great nature park in Rock Hill, SC. Loaded with multiple hiking trails from moderate to a paved, wheelchair accessible trail that connects to the River Walk Trail that is a part of the Carolina Thread Trail system. Very good kayak launch ramp for accessing the Catawba River. Only downsides are that it's beside the waste treatment plant, gas limited parking that can fill up on the weekends with kayakers, and has a narrow dirt road entry. Great place to hike, fish, or just enjoy nature.
I love this place! The nature and scenery is beautiful! It's great to bike at and run with your dogs! I only wish they had water fountains every so often on the trails
Everyone can enjoy River Park's environmentally sensitive 70 acres on the pristine Catawba River. Several miles of wooded trails, including handicapped accessible trails, wander through the park and along the scenic river. You can enjoy a picnic while observing plants, birds and animals in a peaceful undisturbed setting.
River Park is also the perfect setting to learn about the delicate balance between man and our natural resources. Frequent visitors to the park include scout troops and school groups. River Park is the location for many of the Environmental Education classes offered by PRT including the Leopold Education Project.
