On top of being a really great stand-up guy, the shop owner is extremely knowledgeable in all things RC. His staff is very friendly and will work with you to figure any issue out.
Came into the shop today with a few issues and left with everything taken care of. Soldered cable and some batteries to juice up my car some more!
Would highly recommend you check it out, huge selection in traxxas cars/trucks, with all the parts to fix them.
Went in hoping they carried model tanks. Although they did not, the owner took time to lookup some online shops that could get us exactly what we were looking for. He suggested ones he knew to be reputable and had previously done business with. He was very eager to help with no agenda. Good people.
At the age of 8, I developed a fascination with RC Cars, specifically nitro cars. 22 years later, I have the money and a son to share the hobby with me. I came into Matt’s shop with a pretty low budget, and he steered me in the right direction for our first car. We spent about an hour together before I made a purchase that probably didn’t influence his bottom line very much. At no point did I feel dismissed or like I didn’t belong, which is what I expected.
Matt definitely knows what he’s talking about, and you can tell that he cares about the spirit of the hobby scene. It’s one thing to run a business, it’s another to indulge a passion that also pays the bills. I did also compare his price for our first car against the online price from a couple of vendors. His price was the same as Amazon and the manufacturer of the car that I bought, Horizon.
My son and I have gotten a lot of enjoyment out of the Traxxas Rustler we got at Extreme Hobby. It somehow ran into a mailbox, and all the parts we needed were at the store, along with the advice to make the repair.
If you are in the Nashville area this is the hobby shop to check out. Matt is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He is very well accustomed to the fiendish, impulsive, RC enthusiasts; who are all in a rush to get their toys fixed. it's a difficult thing to balance, and I was impressed at Matt's abilities be solved with well over 20 customers in and out of the store during the 3 hours I was there. He repaired and upgraded my Revo 2.0 in a matter of minutes. Cool crowd, and cool culture.
