Great Historical Stop! I just made a quick stop while driving through the area and it did not disappoint. Reading about the history and talking to one of the park rangers, David. He was very informative, not just about that site but about the area. He also gave a great background about the restoration that was going on at the building which I was very much interested in.
Great little park with important history. The hours though!! It closes at 430?? It has a nice Little Rock beach to relax on where kids can play and swim. Fishing is ok and there is always enough parking. Spots to access the river are so few around here, and this definitely one of the nicer ones.
Very small state park, but a good stop if you are into history and a short hike. Parking options are great as well as the kayak drop off.
I love this place, it has a silence about it that's hard to explain. Yes there was Mother Nature sounds but other than that no other sounds. Hard to believe it was once such a bustling place to be.
I'm looking forward to returning and exploring more of what I didn't get to see.
