Amazing service
I haven't reviewed this church, my church, since I joined. I've been a member of Prince of Peace for almost a year. I have never met a group of more accepting, welcoming, and scriptural folks. I was family from day one. I love this church, and more than that, I have a renewed love of Christ's sacrifice.
This church is an example of things not being left to chance. Divine providence, through the hands of those in the community.
This past weekend, not knowing who we were, they welcomed Mark Parmley, and me, with open arms, for an eclipse gathering. They even had food set up, prepared and everything. They might have even been better prepared than we (the two amateur radio guys) were!
We were privileged to meet people from our home towns/area, Ohio, Detroit, Holland, Texas, Tampa, and other areas which I can't seem to remember.
I had a bit of time to reflect on it, and it reminded me of a couple of things:
1. Like when my house was hit on April 27, 2011, God's people, the church, is there in both the good times and bad. This said, so is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
2. The church's impact is shown on the community around it. It is wonderful to see that "light house" to the community.
3. Science? Or... science! (See below)
We were taking part in a bit of a national science project. There's inevitable discussion/argument out there for "intelligent design" vs evolution/big bang.
Big bangs impart chaos, and a guaranteed *randomized* kinetic force vector on matter/pieces of it, which isn't really measurable on how things will split off upon explosion/what exact direction they will travel, unless there is pre-planning involved to constrain (even for the largest or smallest pyro operations). This said, the big bang theory should probably be revised to "God said it," and bang, it happened.
Think about the cycle of eclipses for a second. Even before modern technology, the heavenly bodies has been mathematically predictable. As a business analyst at my day job, I can see evidence of planning. As early as 2000 years ago, eclipses have been predictable. Now we have it down to the SECOND.
With ALL of that said... for science... it's a journey to understand the truth of how things were put together by our creator. Man's understanding of what God did will never be complete, but for us nerds, it's fun to keep us busy.
Thank you again for your wonderful hospitality to us.
