I hardly ever leave reviews but I felt I needed to bc I almost cancelled my appointment with Dr. Molette due to all of the negative reviews. The staff was friendly for the most part, but there was 1 employee where I could see that they probably had a rude attitude on some occasions.

I feel like most of the negative reviews were probably from patients who just wanted the meds and didn’t want to dedicate theirselves to find and fix the root problems of their pain. So if you are just looking for a Dr to hand over a prescription of the meds you want, then this isn’t the place to go. BUT, if you want long term treatment of your pain, definitely see what she has to offer.

I was referred to Southern Pain Institute by my specialist. I have been dealing with chronic female issues for approximately 12 years now. The last 5 years I have been actively trying to find a treatment that would treat the root problems and not just put a “band-aid” on it with prescription medications and only trying to manage the pain through pain medicines.

I understand that the conditions I have are complex because there is little knowledge and research in those areas. There is also a lot of trial and error treatments and I have exhausted everything that every physician would want to try, but none were able to provide long term relief (typically 2ish weeks of some relief) I couldn’t even count how many times that other doctors would give me hope of a solution, only to be extremely disappointed by the results.

Dr. Molette, I feel, really seen that I am just desperate for an effective treatment protocol that didn’t involve having to be on narcotics for life. I also feel that she seen that I wanted to be able to enjoy life with my children and to have a better quality life than what I have currently.

Yes, narcotics give me a couple of hours of relief, but being on narcotics for life isn’t a good quality of life or a permanent solution, it just masked the pain and left me with side effects that still hindered having a happy and quality life.

Even though I did not get a huge excitement after leaving my appointment, I did leave with some hope that she is truly wanting to help me to have a better quality of life. She was able to offer a start off plan with a treatment device that has help others with similar diagnosis and that gives me hope, not a huge hope only bc I have been given hope in the past without success. I did leave my appointment feeling as though she is really going to try and help treat root problems that will bring relief to other symptoms.

The device she is having me try may or may not work but I will never know unless I try it. If it only gives me some relief, that is that much more relief I wouldn’t have had I not tried it. I was actually shocked that she was able to offer a device treatment that I have yet to try bc I have tried so many treatments, medications, and devices, that I honestly thought there was nothing else out there for me to try.

I am a very desperate person desiring a root problem fix and I have done so much research myself and stay up to speed with the research studies of my condition. I was very happy to know that there was a device out there that I have yet to try.

I know there are many people out there who really don’t want root treatments and would much rather just be on a pain medication indefinitely, but that isn’t my desire for my life. I understand that pain medications will have to be part of my life until I find the right doctor, who is willing to help me fight to find an effective treatment that will not require me to be on a narcotic forever. I would even be ok if I could just get to the point where I may need medications every now and then, but not be a daily part of my life.

I can honestly say, as of now, that Dr. Molette really does want her patients to find effective pain relief, and being on pain medications for life, for me, is not an effective pain relief treatment program, only a necessity temporary treatment while getting/finding a patient effective and appropriate treatment.
