I should’ve asked for the lady’s name, but she was extremely helpful and really nice. I know she probably gets a thousand calls a day but she had a great attitude. I hope she doesn’t let people, who call and are rude to her, take that away from her.
I have a package that arrived at this facility on 12/12/2020, but hasn’t moved since then (today is 12/23/2020). I feared it was lost & tried calling the USPS 800# only to find that my expected hold time was “more than an hour”. I did a Google search trying to find the actual facility provided in my tracking info & found this number. A SUPER nice lady answered after 2 rings & calmly (not defensive, rushed, or hateful at all) explained she’d do what she could to help me, but they are 2-3 weeks behind in processing. I appreciated her honesty & transparency because it eased my mind that my package hadn’t been lost. She verified my package is there in their facility (based on my tracking number) & suggested I call her back in 4-5 days for an update if my tracking info hasn’t been updated online.
Am I happy my package hasn’t arrived & will likely take another 2-3 weeks to arrive? Of course not, but the customer service I received on the phone was fantastic. A persons true character shows in difficult times & her character shined bright! When we don’t get the service we expect, it’s easy to throw a fit, but most of the time the person you’re talking to hasn't even had anything to do with what you’re complaining about. They get their butts chewed all day for things they have no control over because they need a job to pay their bills too. I’ve found, if I keep that in mind & speak to people with the same respect I desire, it goes much better for everyone involved.
I was so impressed with this lady’s service that I asked for her supervisor so I could give them some positive feedback because I know that’s rare these days. They were both very appreciative & thanked me for taking the time to tell them how pleased I was with my call. Did that change my package being delayed? Not one bit. But throwing a fit & robbing myself & someone else of their peace would have been futile. At least this way, I can be proud of how I behaved in an unpleasant situation & maybe I put a smile on someone else’s face. To me, kindness, compassion, & grace are always the best way.
