This was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Don gave a detailed explanation of the work to be done and a fair price and timeline to complete the project. His crew did an excellent job with the repairs and painting, they are true craftsmen. They went above and beyond to give us a beautiful job for a fair price. I don't think this house looked this good when it was new!

I'd been putting off having my house trim repainted and some fascia board repaired due to the cost, but after some mighty storms came through I knew it was time. Don was one of a few quotes I received, but the special thing about Don's inspection and quote was that it involved what he recognized to be water damage and a roof leak. I'd had an internet dish installed some years before and had a water leak in that spot that I thought had been repaired. Spoiler alert, it hadn't.

Don's quote included that repair, and because his price was absolutely fair and he had noticed what the others hadn't, I decided to go with him.

The painting process seemed to go to plan, and I would 100% recommend him for anyone needing their home repainted. I plan to call him back to do some painting on the inside as well.

As for the roof leak, it turned out to be much worse than it first appeared. In the seven or so years since we'd thought we fixed the leak, it appeared we just slowed it. It was a problem we wouldn't have known that we had until it was a massive one. Don was communicative throughout the entire thing and showed me pictures and was honest when he said that due to the extensive damage that the price would go up. That higher price, too, was completely fair, and I feel confident that now the problem has been solved. (The dish is now on a pole set into the ground instead of on the roof.)

One of the best parts? The crew had the job completed in two days.

Don and his team were so friendly and hardworking. They honestly made the job so easy for me and set my mind at ease. I'm the type to want to find any way I can to do the job myself before calling someone else. In this case, there was no way I could do it on my own. And I know that if I have something go wrong with any repair/paint Don did, (I'm only a few days out from the job as of writing this) he would absolutely make it right.

TL;DR: I highly, highly recommend Don and his crew for any painting or roof work or fascia repair you need done.

Don and his crew were hired back in March of 2020 to paint the exterior of my house, replace any rotted siding, and repair the wood rot on my windows. The actual paint job was below $6k, but the wood repair was an extra $2k. The costs itself were a bit on the high end compared to the other quotes I received, but given the online reviews, I went with Don, especially because I trusted that his crew could repair the wood windows. Once everything was finalized, his crew got started and completed the job in about a week. The overall paint job and siding repair turned out great. Around December of 2020, I noticed that a few of these quarter-round pieces were splitting on the exterior sills of my windows. These pieces were installed by Don's crew. I reached out to Don in hopes that he would come inspect and repair it. After a number of back-and-forth attempts, I was able to get Don to my house. He filled in the cracks with caulk and gave it another coat of paint as a temporary fix. He promised to reach back out to me to replace the cracked pieces once his crew was in the neighborhood.

This was by far the BEST experience I've EVER had with a contractor! Don Carpenter is a great guy and a very easy guy to work with. He put me at ease the moment I met him for an estimate (he was the first of 4), and I just knew he was a man of integrity. His attention to detail matched my own which was a plus (I am a perfectionist and a stickler for details)! He went above and beyond to address and satisfy whatever I brought to his attention. His crew showed up on time every day and worked until just before dark. He promised a 3 day job to thoroughly clean the exterior of my house, power-wash and treat for any mildew and/or stains, replace rotted wood where necessary, caulk and finally paint 2 coats - and he was a man of his word, three days is what it took! I couldn't be more pleased with the finished product! Not only will I rehire him (I'll be needing some internal painting done next spring) but I'm going to recommend him to everyone I know looking for a reasonable, reliable and skilled crew of painters!
