Dr. Gautsch is an amazing orthopedic surgeon. I had a total knee replacement on my right knee last August and my left knee in October of last year. I had been in severe pain for 10 years, and I got to where I could barely walk. I will be honest, I was scared to have the knee replacements for I had friends that had this done by other surgeons that did not have good outcomes. My wife found out about Dr. Gautsch and she told me that this is your man for the surgery, and she was right. Using the side approach that Dr. Gautsch uses for the surgery makes recovery so much easier. I can't thank Dr. Gautsch and his team enough. Dr. Gautsch was truly a God send for me. I still get teary eyed when I think about it, for I can walk now. He honestly gave me my life back.

Dr. Gautsch replaced both of my knees recently. The first one was done at the end of October and the 2nd one at the end of November. I must admit that doing them back to back in a 4 week period was more difficult than I expected, but now that it's behind me I'm thrilled because I no longer have the intense knee pain that I was enduring for years. Dr. Gautsch was an excellent choice because of his unique surgical procedure that allows for a faster recovery time and he's performed over 6000 knee replacements in his career. I was most impressed with how friendly and easy he was to talk with during our pre-op and post-op meetings. We never felt rushed and he answered all of our questions thoroughly.

On September the 9th, DR Gautsch performed a total joint replacement on my right knee. Today, November 11th, 2021, DR Gautsch did the left knee.

I served as a paratrooper while I was in the Army. I never experienced knee pain or problems while I was in. However, 6 years ago I started having problems. This year was the worst! Until I met DR Gautsch.

DR Gautsch, uses a new technique that DOES NOT, cut the muscle at the bottom of thigh. ( Quadriceps ). Without cutting that muscle, the healing time I’d GREATLY reduced. Ask around, this is 100% worth it!

My right knee was good to go, 5 weeks after the surgery. I also had 5 weeks of physical therapy. I went in to this with an, “ALL IN” attitude. DR Gautsch, has the same attitude about doing the surgery.

Two knee replacements in 8 weeks and I start physical therapy this coming Tuesday. The physical therapist’s are out of this world. The Southern Sports Medicine clinic in Gallatin, TN, really is a total package.

I recommend DR Gautsch to anyone that needs work done on their joints. Or needs those joints replaced. I had this done at 55 years old. Don’t wait too long to have it done. Enjoy your life!

Dr. Gautsch and his staff are such a delight. People can't believe how well I am doing so soon after same day knee replacement. He also previously repaired my shoulder which gives me no trouble at all even though it was several years ago! He is always very professional, but with a good sense of humor. He took the time to explain all aspects of his side approach knee surgery to me and it all went just as he said. His Physical Therapists were just as awesome! The staff was friendly and professional as well, eager to help in any way they could. I would highly recommend Dr. Gautsch if you need any knee or shoulder surgery!
