“After having picked up my tuxedo jacket from Heritage Cleaners, I discovered that nearly all of the buttons were broken. Fortunately, I had another suitable jacket to wear to the symphony that evening. When I returned the jacket to the Cleaners a few days later, they were profusely apologetic and assigned their seamstress the task of sewing on new buttons, free of charge. Again, when I picked it up, I was greeted with more apologies, this time from what I presume was the manager/owner. The issue, as we both understood it, was that while buttons can become brittle, I should have been notified. Here's the thing: my situation, as described above, was obnoxious (it's a textbook definition of a White Person Problem), yet there was no reason for my reaction to be so. They couldn't have responded more professionally. I'm happy to keep my business with them.”
