“I was looking for a 3 bedroom family friendly rental in or near Nashville for 5 nights. Everything on airbnb was over $1,000. I found old hickory lake cabins and was so happy to find a 3 bedroom for $840 for the 5 nights. It was a total bonus it was right on the lake! We spent lots of time throwing rocks into the water (my almost 2 year old could do this for hours) and having bonfires down by the water. This cabin is very family friendly with games, toys, and a bathtub for the little ones. The owner is very nice and helpful. We had no issues checking in and the cabin was fully stocked with everything we needed. We received our security deposit back promptly. If we are ever back in the Nashville area we would absolutely stay again and I recommend this location to anyone looking for a family friendly vacation rental.”

“Wow wow wow!!! My husband and I had a FANTASTIC ride with Shelby Farms Stables. Our tour guide, Ben, was phenomenal. He was so patient with all of the new riders. Ben is also knowledgeable about many aspects of horses, training, etc. I felt like it was not just a ride, but a lesson as well! I would recommend for people of all ages and experience levels! The horses are so well trained and gentle. I can hardly wait to come again!”

“What an incredible property! My wife and I spent 4 wonderful nights in the Dove Cottage. The cabin is perfect, from breakfast on the back porch to rocking on the front porch enjoying the beautiful scenery. It's quiet, except for the squirrels in the woods, and the owners are responsive to questions. The cabin has a great layout, we enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, and it had everything we needed. We are looking forward to coming back and maybe checking out the Candle Light Cabin. I am so glad I found this property; it is truly a place to get away and recharge.”

We’ve been using her service for years but when disaster struck our flights during our honeymoon, not once, but twice, Joanie rerouted our flight and we made it to Mexico on time without missing a thing! She was understanding and compassionate. The flight home we ran into flight trouble again, after-hours, and she stopped whatever she was doing and got us home. “This place was amazing. We had a birthday party for my daughter here and the trail ride was perfect - we even got to ride through the creek for a bit which was great. My daughters are 8 & 10 and without prior riding experience, I was nervous, but they had staff walking along with us to make sure everything went smooth. I was specifically impressed by the young and young adult staff. They interacted with my children, encouraged them, and told them facts about the trail and horses - this truly made the experience 10x better for them and for myself.”

“Book this immediately! Recommended as the best local ride by a friend and could not agree more! Whether local or visiting the greater Nashville area, absolutely suggest booking asap. As a VERY inexperienced rider (once before overseas & awful experience), I cannot express how great this place is for riders of all levels. We booked a private tour & even though the weather turned about halfway through our ride, my family visiting from another state could not stop talking about the horses, scenery & how this was the best ride they’ve ever had. Absolutely will be going back given they are open year round. And for those with concerns about the treatment of the horses, well cared for & plenty of open space for them. I wish that I had taken more photos during our ride to show how pretty their land is as well, but again I am inexperienced and was focused on finally getting comfortable on a horse, which happened!
