Bastrop State Park

Beautiful and accessible. It’s perfect for a calm getaway without breaking the bank.
The only thing that can break it is the sound of the highway but it’s really not that bad.
The campgrounds are nice and well kept, and the park employees are friendly and helpful.
Bonus because the bathrooms are warm, and well maintained.

Beautiful state park with many nice hiking trails at different levels. The park is dog friendly as long as they are on a leash and you pick up after your pet. Playgrounds are in good condition and fun for kids. Nice camping, picnic areas, and cabins. Helpful staff. Definitely a good place for a family visit or a solo hike

Bathrooms are wonderful. The camping spot was great. Trails are awesome. I'm a gamer shutin and I enjoyed every last minute out here. A great getaway. If only the highway had sound barriers.

Some pleasant hiking to be had here with a nice mix of flat and up/downhill, and open and shaded paths. Hills are not very steep but some parts are just enough to get one panting a little bit. Restrooms are very clean, and there's a playground/camping/picnic area that you can drive to. Very cute little bridge crossings along the trails. Trails are marked well enough so you won't get lost.

Bastrop State Park is a beautiful park where its means of egress is located right off the major highway. The scenery is beautiful here and there is so much wildlife here. The deer are very friendly and are not spooked away very easily. Bastrop State Park connects to Buescher State Park. The Park Rangers are super polite and friendly also. Bastrop State Park has a beautiful facility where you can rent for camping with your family or even a large group. There are nice cabins on site and they are well kept. There are a few spots for RVs as well. I highly recommend this location for your next stop for a camping trip.
